What is eHPL™ technology?
What is permanent hair removal according to Silk’n?All Silk’n devices use HPL™ or eHPL™ technology to remove undesired hair growth. Silk’n Infinity with eHPL™ technology was designed to facilitate the long-term or permanent reduction of hair growth. Permanent reduction of hair growth is defined as a long-term stable reduction of the number of hairs that resumes growing after a series of treatments.
How eHPL™ technology works

The major advantage of Galvanic Energy is that it is able to reach hairs more efficiently. This is achieved in a very special way: the energy is delivered through an electrode plate located near the treatment area at the rear of the device. When the electrode touches the skin, the skin pores are opened, providing access of the Optical Energy to the hair follicle. Because pores are small, this process is not visible with the naked eye. Now it’s Optical Energy’s turn.
Optical Energy, in the form of HPL™ light pulse emitted by the device, heats up the hair follicle. This destroys the hair follicle, and after every treatment, the number of hairs is reduced. This leads to permanent results. After treatment, the pores close by themselves.
eHPL™: combining both energies
eHPL™ technology, that consists of a combination of both energies, is offered for home use for the first time with Silk’n Infinity. The two energies are emitted simultaneously to permanently reduce undesired body and facial hair.
This is how it works!
1. eHPL™ technology
eHPL™ technology = Galvanic Energy + Optical Energy. These energies are emitted by the device simultaneously, but each has a distinct function.
2. Galvanic energy
Galvanic Energy opens the pores, ensuring that the Optical Energy has easy access to the follicles.
3. Optical energy
Optical Energy is absorbed selectively in the hair shaft and reduces hairs permanently in fastest possible way.
4. After treatment
After each treatment, hair growth is reduced. Because the skin pores are open after treatment, you can apply a body lotion for perfect skin care. The result is silky smooth skin with a radiant glow. The skin pores close by themselves.
The difference between Silk’n Infinity and other hair removal methods
Various methods are used to remove unwanted hair: waxing, plucking and shaving. The longest-lasting effects are produced by laser or IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), for which you will mostly need to visit a beauty salon or clinic. Many people find this inconvenient, as it is time consuming and often expensive.
eHPL™ technology is a new hair removal technique developed by Silk’n. It allows you to permanently reduce undesired hair growth using light pulses, without pain, stubble, ingrown hairs, redness or other irritation.
The unique skin colour sensor
All Silk’n hair removal devices feature a unique, integrated skin colour sensor. Other hair removal devices do not have this feature. The skin colour sensor was designed to measure the colour of the section of the skin on which you are using the device. This unique safety mechanism prevents you from using the device in places where your skin is too dark or too tanned. The Silk’n Infinity skin colour sensor is now even more advanced. This device is suitable for all skin colours.
